The Shelmalier minor footballers qualified for the final of the Jim Byrne Cup with 4-8 to 1-8 victory over near neighbours Crossabeg Ballymurn played in Ballymurn on Sunday last.
The black and amber side completely dominated the first half leading by 3-6 to 0-3 at half time with goals from Eoghan Nolan, Simon Murphy and James Cash. However, the second half was a much more even affair with the home team presenting a challenge to the Shelmaliers. Neil Rossiter, Simon Donohoe, James Cash and Eoghan Nolan playing very well for the Shelmaliers. They now play the Starlights in the final in two weeks time.
