Under 12 Hurling against Ferns.

Our under 12 hurlers were in action away to Ferns last Tuesday night.

The first game was a very closely fought affair with Ferns going into an early lead
with a goal and a point. Jack Murphy hit back immediately for our lads with a goal
followed by a couple of points from Kevin Harte. Ferns responded with two goals
and a point but a goal from Kevin Harte left our lads trailing by just 3 points at half
time on a scoreline of 3.03 to 2.03. The Shels boys started the second half strongly
with Seamus Ronan John and Peter Doyle giving nothing away at the back. A goal
from Jordan Hunt and a point from Shane Pierce put our lads in front for the first
time in the match. Ferns replied with a couple of scores but with scores from Kevin
Harte, Chris Cowman and Stuart Fanning our lads ran out winners in the end on a
score line of  Shels 5.07 Ferns 5.03.
In the second game the Shels boys were too strong for their opponents and went
into an early lead courtesy of goals from Nathan Murphy, Dan Campbell and Liam
Rockett and points from Michael O Rourke, James Doyle, Craig Parker amd Sean
Keane. More of the same was to follow with the Shels boys going in at half time
with a comfortable lead. The second half was much the same and with Aaron O
Neill, Sean Reidy and Mark Power giving away nothing at the back. Further scores
from Conor Hearne, Sean Keane, Dan Campbell and Liam Rockett left our lads
very comfortable winners at the end.
