Blackwater edge out Shels by a point

Shelmaliers met Blackwater in Hollymount Sat eve last in the senior hurling league and were forced to line out without many of their regulars.

Brian Malone, and David Walsh were with the County team in Ruislip in London, Stephen Banville and Eoin Doyle are resticted due to Co. duty, James Gordon, Feargal Hynes and Brian Murphy were away with Co. minors.

Blackwater were the hungrier team from the off and seemed to want it more. They were leading at half time 1-4 to 0-3. Shels upped their game in the second half and were leading by 2 points at the end of normal time. In the extended injury time of almost 5 minutes, Blackwaters efforts were rewarded by a very late goal which sealed victory for them by the smallest margin. Final score 3-9 to 2-11.

Emmet O’ Leary was having a great game until forced off due to a groin injury, Ronan Kavanagh had a personal tally of 2-2, also Aidan Murphy, Benny Barron,Aidan Cash all showed well.
