Under 12 Hurling.

Our under 12 hurlers were busy over the last few days playing Duffrey Rovers on
Monday evening in the league and then Blackwater on Wednesday evening in a
practice match.

The under 12 grade this year is not 15 a side, it depends on how
many players each club has on the evening so on both occasions we had two games
of between 9 and 11 a side. The main reason for this is so the boys can get plenty of
game time and generally there are no subs.

We played the Duffrey Rovers in two games in Hollymount on Monday evening
winning both games and with some excellent performances from the lads.
In the first game the players that really shone were Aaron O Neill and Peter Doyle
in the backs, Sean Keane Carroll in midfield and Conor Hearne, Dan Campbell
and James Doyle in the forwards. The main scorers on the night were James Doyle,
Dan Campbell and Conor Hearne.
In the second game the lads played really well and won easily enough in the end.
Best on the night were Adam Howlin and Christopher Cowman at the back, Mark
Power in midfield and Kevin Harte  and Cillian Tobin in the forwards with Jordan
Hunt doing most of the scoring.

On Wednesday evening we hosted Blackwater in Hollymount again playing 2 games.
In the first game after a close enough first half ours lads really played well after half
time and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Best on the night were Richard
Kinsella in goal, Sean Reidy and Peter Doyle in the backs, Shane Pierce in midfield
and Jordan Hunt, Jack Murphy and Alex Ryan in the forwards. The scoring was
shared fairly evenly among the forwards.
In the second game it was really close from start to finish with the boys just winning
by a couple of scores in the end. Players to shine on the night were Niall Hearne,
Adam Hearne, Michael O Rourke, Craig Parker, Liam Rockett, Kyle Roche, Mark
Power and Nathan Murphy.  Most of the scoring was done by Nathan Murphy, Dan
Campbell and Kyle Roche.
Next under 12 fixture is against Bunclody in Football in Hollymount next Monday
evening May 10th  at 7.30pm.
