Shels playing against the wind in the first half did well to stay with the visitors, a goal from Joe Kelly helping their cause. It was nip and tuck in ths second half with Shels failing to take full advantage of the wind in the first quarter. The lead was exchanged several times in this period. However, in the final quarter the seemed to move up a gear and when Alan Griffith set up Joe Kelly for his second major of the day with Stephen Banville goaling minutes later it was Shels all the way to the final whistle. Final score 3-11 to 0-13.
