3rd team V Bannow/Ballymitty

Our third team played Bannow-Ballymitty in the league recently.

Bannow had a strong team as they were allowed to play subs from their Senior team but the Shels thirds put in a great effort and were beaten by 4-10 to 2-6 at the end. Mark Tobin and Sean Walsh did most of the attacking in the forwards with John Nolan and Graham Lawler doing well at mid-field. In the absence of injured goalie Keith Rossiter, Donal Power stood in and played very well playing like a full back and goalie at times and pulled off some great saves. In defence, Graham Malone and Conor O’Shaughnessy played well throughout. James Shiggins and Liam Donnely came on as subs and made an immediate difference with James both setting up and scoring some vital scores and Liam launching some vital attacks from wing back.
