2nd Team Footballers lose to Glynn

Our second team, short many regulars, put in a spirited performance this morning in Hollymount against district rivals Glynn/Barntown.

Glynn started much the stronger and had built up a comprehensive lead by half time. We had lost corner forward Paudie McMahon in the first 5 mins and had to play with 14 men for next 15 mins. However then the Shels fought back hard and started closing the gap quickly, but Glynn goaled twice within 5 mins, so Shels were left too much to do, in too short a time. The last 5 mins seen the Shels hitting the crossbar twice but to no avail. Final score 3-8 to 0-11.
