Meet the Minor Players for Sunday

btBrian Tobin: 18 Student St Peters College:
“Toby” is our minor football Captain. Was Full back on our Feile winning football team of 2005 and is a classy and skilful player. Mr coolness and always seems to have time on the ball, a sign of a great player.

bmBrian Murphy: Goalkeeper: 17: Student UCD
Brian has made the goalkeeper position his own this year and has made the transition from free scoring forward to net minder look easy. Made his debut at Senior level this year also. Will appear at Minor level next year again, has won numerous medals as well as All Ireland Feile Title in 2005.

sgShane Griffith: Defender: 17: Student St Peters College
Shane is a tight marking and speedy defender who has developed into a fine hurler and footballer over the last few years. Was captain of last years victorious Juvenile Football team and also played on this years “Premier” winning U21 hurling team. Is equally at home in the forward line as he is in front of his own goal.

nmNoel Mythen: Defender: 18 Student UL
Noel is captain of this year’s Minor Hurling team as they attempted to reach the remarkable feat of “Four in a Row” Big, strong defender who also fills the number three jersey on our Minor football team. Noel, like many others on this team, has been on most of our successful teams in the recent past. Has appeared at Adult level this year and is one to watch for the future.

kolKevin O Leary: 18 Student UCD:
Kevin lines out in various defending positions during the year, having also played at wing back and Mid Field during the season. Very skilful and his long relieving clearances are a big asset to this team. Has played on our Adult teams this year and has numerous under age medals. He is brother of Paraic who is Sub Keeper and a Forward sub on this panel.

acAidan Cash: 17 Student St Peters College:
Aidan is now starting to show the real potential that has been evident to everyone for the last few years. Has had a great year on the field both at Football and Hurling. Was on our title winning U21 team and was a member of county panels at both codes. Tenacious tackler, who always gives it his very best, and has a great “engine”

jgJames Gordon: 17 Student St Peters College
Even though he is still only 17 James has almost done it all already. Was on our Senior hurling and Football teams this year as well as the County Minor Hurling team, filling the No 6 berth. He has been on the last two winning minor hurling teams and still is underage next year again. Will represent his county for many years to come.

ctConor Tobin; 16 Student St Peters College;
One of our younger members of this team and has made the wing back position his own over the last few weeks. Good free taker and sweet striker of the ball. Only joined our club in 2004 having played previously with Lucan Sarsfields in Dublin. Played with the County U16 hurlers this year.

bbBrendan Barron: 18 Student DIT
Benny was captain of this year’s county Minor Hurlers and played superbly with them all year. Was on the last three winning hurling minor teams.  Has represented wexford at all age groups and has been very much part of all our recent successes. Is equally at ease with the big ball and has a great GAA future ahead of him.

cmcCraig McCabe. 16 Student St Peters College.
Craig has had an extremely busy year. Apart from his hurling and football duties, Craig has represented his Country at Schoolboy soccer this year. This was an achievement that all in Hollymount were delighted to see happen to “one of our own”  Surely has a great future ahead of him at all sports and has already won numerous medals with our club at both Hurling and Football.

bdBrian Doyle: 18 Student UL:
Brian has lined out this year on both our Senior teams and looked comfortable at both codes. Also represented Wexford at Minor Hurling. He, like Benny Barron, has played on the successful teams of the previous three years. His hard working approach to the game is hugely important to our team and is very accurate when he gets a chance.

scStephen Corrigan: 17: Student St Peters College  
Stephen is the speed merchant of the team and is also a vital part of our Minor football team. Has suffered a couple of nasty injuries during the year but is now back to full fitness. There won’t be a part of Wexford Park that Stephen won’t cover today.

jcJohn Campbell: 17 Student St Peters College:
John is the real “Stickman” of this team. His sweet striking and skilful play are a joy to see. Has been in great scoring form this year and has numerous winners’ medals over the last few years. Is famous as the “Security Man” in Flanagan’s Supermarket in Castlebridge

rkRonan Kavanagh: 18: Student WIT:
Ronan is the “Big Man” of our team and is a free scoring forward. His scoring exploits this year have been vital both to our Minor and U21 Teams. Has played at Adult level also and was Captain of our All Ireland winning Feile team of 2005.

fhFergal Hynes: 17 Student St Peters College:
Fergal is having another tremendous year for our club. Was corner forward on our winning U21 hurlers and is equally talented as a Footballer. Has represented his county and is son of the late “Great” Jerome Hynes. Very tenacious and will give it his all at all times. Another who has a very bright future.

nmNiall Murphy: 17 ; Student St Peters College:
Niall is a very promising Hurler and Footballer. Has got a lot of game time for this team this year and is also a very important member of the Minor football team. Hard working and very dedicated and puts in a great effort at all times. Is Minor next year again.

swSean Walsh: 18: Student St Peters College:
Sean was also part of successful three in a row minor hurling team. Has been unlucky a bit with injuries this year and is Wing back on the Football team. Was member of Feile team in 2005 and will never let his team down.

gmGlen Murphy: 16: Student St Peters College:
Glen is an equally talented Footballer as he is a Hurler. Is currently representing Wexford at U16 level and is also an accomplished Rugby player. His love of diving is well known and has gone deep sea diving in numerous locations all over the World. Will play an important part in the upcoming Minor Football Final.

slStuart Leacy: 18: Student
Stuart was also on the successful three in a row hurling team. Has had an injury plagued year and was a regular at Left Half Back until he picked up a knee injury. Is almost back to full fitness now and will not let the side down when called upon.

polParaic O Leary; 16: Student St Peters college
Paraic has two positions to cover today. Has played in Goal and in the Forward division for this team already this year.  Is left corner back on our football team and is currently filling the No 3 jersey on the County U16 football team. Has won numerous medals already and is an accomplished Soccer Goalkeeper. Brother of Kevin.

clCian Lambe: 17: Student St Peters College:
Cian has also had a lot of game time with this team this year. Has covered both forward and back positions and will never let his side down. Is wing forward on our football team and is very dedicated to his GAA. Hard working and tenacious and is not an easy opponent for any opposition player.

sbShane Birney; 16: Student St Peters College:
Shane is a vital part of both our Minor Teams. Has played at Corner forward for the hurlers and is Goalkeeper on The Football squad. Is currently the holder of the No 1 jersey with the County U16 Footballers. Is good for a score when called upon.

dcDarah Cloake: 18 Student UCD:
Darah is a fully committed and really honest player who gives it his all during games and at training. Has appeared at both Wing back and Corner back during this football campaign and has a Jim Byrne Cup winners medal already this year.

arAlan Rossiter: 18 Student UL
Alan is a clinical finisher and only needs a small sight of goal to take a score. Was part of the 2005 Feile winning team and now divides his time between football and rugby. A match winning player when required.
