On Friday 28th August, the All-Ireland GAA 125 Quiz Qualifier took place in Croke Park. The GAA Museum’s search for the biggest GAA ’brainiac’ is narrowing to a close as the top 8 have shown their GAA prowess by advancing to the GAA All-Ireland 125 Quiz Final.

Memory man Jimmy Magee entertained and challenged the brains of GAA enthusiasts from the four provinces last night with tough questions spanning the life of the association. Offaly man, Peter Guing claimed the first spot in the final, closely followed in joint second place by Wexford man John Redmond, and Kerry man John Nagle. If numbers count for anything, Wexford are in strong contention to win the title with Wexford men Aidan Kinsella, Tony Doran and Willie Kinsella all reaching the final eight also.

The survivors will now be entered into a ‘head to head’ battle on Friday 18th September. The weak will be eliminated one by one in quarter, semi and final rounds in front of an audience in the GAA Museum auditorium.

The All-Ireland 125 Quiz champion will be presented with The All Ireland  trophy by Christy Cooney, Uachtarán CLG, along with tickets to the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship Final, dinner and a night in the four star Croke Park Hotel.

The champion will also make a guest appearance on a special live show of RTÉ’s The Sunday Game on the night of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship Final.
