Footballers bow out in league final

The third team defied all expectations  in their debut league campaign by reaching the league final last Tuesday.

It was a very tough prospect being pitted against the unbeaten Kilmore in Killmore.
The shels were really fired up for the game and had a great start with first half goals from Mark Tobin and Stephen Cash giving them a half time lead. Second half injuries to key players Graham Lawlor, James Shiggins and Stephen Cash and a soft penalty conspired against the Shels, meaning they were just piped by a very strong Kilmore team.

On a night when everyone played above their best, the players who really shone were Paddy Murphy, John Nolan, Stephen Cash, Mark Tobin and Vinny Parker.
