3rd Team beat Ballymurn 2nd

pwShels third hurling team had to find something in reserve to beat Ballymurn by 2 points in Hollymount last night.

The Shelmalier Junior B Hurlers had an astounding win over near neighbours
Ballymurn on Tuesday night in Hollymount on a score line of 0-16 to  1-11.
The shelmaliers completely dominated the opening half playing a fast direct
brand of hurling displaying great team work & determination . They took a
six point lead into the resumption facing a stiff breeze, Ballymurn
introduced some talented minors into the fray & began to claw their way
back to within two points with five minutes to go when the only goal of the
game came when the ball rebounded of the helmet of a Ballymurn forward &
deflected past the helpless Decy Murphy. The Shels to their credit dug deep
and responded with an unanswered three points from Philip (Blindy) Walsh to
win by a margin of 2 Points on a night when sterling performances were
given by Decy Murphy , William Redmond, James & David Shiggins Brian O’
Shaughnessy & Graham Lawlor.

Unfortunately, Colm Hearne sustained a cracked rib during the match and we wish him a speedy recovery.
