Our under 12 Footballers played Craanford in Hollymount last Tuesday night.
Craanford made a very bright start to the game and went into an early 1-03 to
0- 00 lead. Our lads started to settle down then and a couple of scores from Conor
Hearne and Cian Manley brought us closer. The visitors against the run of play
then scored a goal that goalkeeper Nick Whelan was very unlucky not to save.
A goal from Dylan Potter just before half time left the half time score at
Craanford 2 -06 Shels 1 -03.
The second half began with our lads really turning on the style with a succession
of points from Jody Donoghoe, Conor Hearne (2), Dylan Potter (2) and Shane
Neville to make the scores level. The teams shared the next four points before a point from Cian Manley left the Shels a point up with two minutes to go.
Craanford went on the attack in the last minute and with almost the last kick of
the game the ball ended up in the back of the net to leave Craanford winners on
a scoreline of 3- 08 to 1- 12. Best for our lads on the night were Nick Whelan, Dan
Campbell, Nathan Murphy and Conor Hearne with Subs Bill Quaid and Gareth
Jones also making a big impact.
