Congratulations to the Shelmalier Ladies U14 Team who retained the County Title by defeating a highly rated Saints team on a scoreline of 7-11 to 4-10
The Shels girls were first on the score board in the first minuite with a well taken Point from Mid fielder and captain Shauna Murphy. with in the next two minuites shels had a further 1- 1 on the board courtsey of siobhan Cloake and Aine Lacy, the Saints opened their scoring with a goal from full forward Lauren Lawlor. Shels added a brace of points from from Cloake (3), Murphy (2) and Gemma McCabe while points from Julie Coakley (3) and Maire Clare Morrisesey were keeping the Saints well in touch. The saints narrowed the margin to a point with a goal courtsey of full forward Murphy. Hanah Duggan replied for the shels followed by a goal and a point from McCabe and Cloake respectively.

The Saints opened the scoring in the second half with 2 points from the hard working Julie Coakley.Shels were awarded a penalty in the 3rd min which Siobhan Cloake cooly slotted home to the top corner of the net.
Megan smith and Cloake goaled for the shels before the Saints responded with Points from Substitute Ciara Rossiter and Coakley. Duggan And Lacy added two further goals while the staints kept mounting the pressure and slotted over a point for Lawlor and a goal from Rossitor. Katie lilis had the final say for shels with a fine point at this point the Saints upped the presusre on the shels defence and added 1-1 from Lalwor and coakley. Ciara Corrigan in the shels goal pulled a fantastic save to deny the saints a further goal.
This was a great team performance from 1 to 25 with a great work ethic shown by all the girls others to play well included Roisin Tobin , Ali Murphy Geraldine Doonan, Ciara Neville,Niamh Doyle and Clionadh Flynn.
