Whilst this was the fourth round of the championship, it was the first game for the Shels owing to the county minor teams progressing so far this year.
Shels travelled to Killurin on Thurs evening last 7th August, where they got off to a slow start but were not punished too severely by Glynn who also had several wides in this opening half. We went into the break 2 points down. Shels upped their game in the second half and had drawn level with 8 minutes to go, when Glynn fighting hard to stay in touch with the newly energised Shels, pointed twice in the dying minutes of the game to leave the final score 1-8 to 1-6.
Best on the day were Ronan Kavanagh in goal, Kevin O'Leary and Brian Doyle in the middle of the field and Shane Murphy and Shane O'Connor up front.
Our next game will be away on Thursday 21st August V Ballinastraw Gaels (Ballygarrett, Askamore and Kilrush combined).
