Kate Kelly scoops Vodafone award. Kate Kelly

We are all so proud of our own super star.Wexford's and Shelmalier superstar Kate Kelly have been named the Vodafone GAA Camogie  Player of the Year for 2007. Kate helped Wexford to their first All-Ireland in 32 years, defeating a Cork side that included dual star Corkery.Kelly is also a dual player and she was on the Wexford team that reached this year's Intermediate All-Ireland football final. But it was in her role with the camogie team that she enjoyed her biggest successes, emulating the achievement of her mother Peggy who won All-Ireland titles with the Model County in 1968 and 1969. Kelly scored an impressive 1-40 in the championship, with 15 of her points coming from play. This latest award caps a remarkable year which saw her named as both Wexford Camogie Player of the Year and Wexford Ladies Footballer of the Year.
