Shels lead from start to finish.

Juvenile footballers qualify for county final.Under 16 football semi final against Kilmore

Our Juvenile footballers qualified for the county final following a 4-11 to 1-5 victory over Kilmore in the semi final played in Blackwater on Saturday last. The Shelmalier boys were always in command and led from start to finish. James Gordon got the Shels off to a quick start with a point after five minutes, with Aidan Cash adding a goal shortly afterwards. John Campbell, Sean Walsh, Fergal Hynes and James Gordan extended the Shels' lead before Alan Rossiter got the second of his team's goals, to see his team lead by 2-5 to 1-4 at half time. Kilmore showed more purpose as the half closed when they registered 1-2 without reply. At the resumption of the second half, the black and amber were determined to retain the initiative and Sean Walsh and James Gordon extended their team's lead. Sean Walsh was again on the score sheet when he goaled after some fine play from Kevin O Leary and Glen Murphy and the same player got his second goal after twenty minutes to put the result beyond doubt.
