Good second half performance ensures victory.

Intermediate footballers qualify for county semi final.

Our Intermediate footballer eventually over Craanfort by 2-10 to 1-9 in the quarter final of the Intermediate football championship played in Bellefield on Saturday last. The first half was a tame affair with both sides guilty of some poor shooting and poor passing, with the Shels trailing by 0-5 to 0-4 at half time. Terry Gainfort, Stephen Banville and Graham Power were on the mark for the black and amber in this half.  It was a much improved performance by the Shelmaliers in the second half, with Derek Walsh scoring three close in frees to put his team into the lead. This lead was extended when Terry Gainfort pointed from a long range free, followed shortly with Stephen Banville shooting over the bar from an acute angle. Derek Walsh delighted the over the water supporters with a well taken goal after 20 minutes and the same player added a second goal three minutes following some good work by Thomas Barron to put the match beyond doubt.
