Shels men aid Wexford U16 win

Ronan Kavanagh, Brendan Barron and Brian Doyle form part of Wexford team to win Shield in Thurles

Congratulations to Ronan Kavanagh, Brendan Barron and Brian Doyle who formed part of the U16 Wexford hurling team that won the Shield final in the Nenagh Co-op Tournament in Thurles on Sunday 26th August.
Teams from 12 counties took part in this tournament and Wexford was in a group with Clare and Dublin. Having beaten Clare in the first game, they lost by one point to Dublin in the 2nd game amid some controversial decisions, thus losing out on a place in the main final.
However, they beat Galway in the Shield Semi final and went on beat Cork in the Shield final.
With Ronan playing at full forward, Brian at corner forward, Brendan at mid field and getting on the scoreboard, all took to the field to help Wexford on the way to the Shield victory.
