St. Martins prove too strong for Senior hurlers in Wexford Park.
The Shelmalier senior hurlers took on St Martins in the second round of the championship and after a disappointing performance were beaten by 3-11 to 0-8. Most of the damage was done in the opening stages of the game when St. Martins raced to a 2-2 to no score after 12 minutes. The Shels recovered with points from Chris McGrath and Ibar Murphy, but St. Martins soon replied with a brace of points of their own. Further points from Alan Griffith and Ibar Murphy completed the Shels scoring in the half. The second half was a low scoring affair with Ibar Murphy and Colm Kehoe on the mark for the black and amber.
