Championship exit for the senior camogie team.

The senior camogie championship came to an end for St Ibars with a semi final defeat by Oulairt. Oulairt opened the scoring with a point from a free and followed this up with a goal. They added 3 more points during which St Ibars added 4 points to their tally, scores coming from Mag Kelly, Leona Tectar, Michelle Hearne and Kate Kelly. This left the score at Oulairt 1-4 to St Ibars 4 points. Then Oulairt added 1-4 to their tally. They stretched the lead forward adding another 1-1. St Ibars added another point but Oulairt now had 2-8 to their credit. Brigid Curran added another point for St Ibars leaving a half time score of Oulairt 2-9 to St Ibars 6 points.
The second half opened with more scores for Oulairt and they increased their score to 3-11 during which Mag Kelly added a point for St Ibars. Then an excellent pass from Dee MacMahon to Mag Kelly ended in the back of the Oulairt net. However the score was equalled with a goal from Oulairt minutes later. Another goal came from St Ibars when Kate Kelly passed to Brigid Curran who netted a goal. Oulairt continued in scoring form and the score now read 4-14 to 2-7. Kate Kelly added another point for St Ibars and this was followed with another goal for Brigid Curran. Mag Kelly added another point and Kate Kelly finished the scoring for St Ibars with a point. The final score was 4-17 to Oulairt and 3-10 to St Ibars.
St Ibars now exit from the championship and Oulairt advance. The local girls gave a full hearted performance on the night but were out classed by a high scoring Oulairt team.
