Annual Patrons.

The Annual Patron to Ardcolm cemetery in Castlebridge will take place on Monday next, July 23rd at 7.30pm. 

CASTLEBRIDGE SHOW
There will be a "get together" for anyone who is interested in exhibiting vegetables in this years show. The meeting will take place on Wednesday,  25th July at 8pm in Castlebridge Hall.

WEXFORD IN BLOOM
Foxborough estate Castlebridge, won 2nd prize in the `Best Presented housing estate` in the Wexford in Bloom competition. They won the prize of a garden bench. Kay Murphy from Beech Grove in Castlebridge, won 1st prize for her oriental plants and Japanese maples in the same competition. Kay received a certificate and voucher of 50 sponsored by Ballykelly Garden Centre
CHURCH-GATE COLLECTION
A Church-gate collection for the local Castlebridge/Crossabg Community Games Committee will be taken up at all Churches ( Screen, Curracloe, Castlebridge, Oylegate, Glenbrien, Ballymurn and Crossabeg)  in their area this coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday, July 21st and 22nd.  All proceeds to help offset the cost of sending a Soccer team, swimmers and athletes to the National Finals in Mosney in August.  Your generous support would  be appreciated.
 
TIDY TOWNS
Many thanks to Mr John Sinnott, Ardcavan, who donated a magnificent phonebox  to Castlebridge Village. This phonebox was kindly put in place at the Health Centre by Junior Kehoe and Andy O' Toole. The phonebox will be painted and maintained by the Tidy Towns.

BOCCE COURTS
Castlebridge Community Centre would like to thank everyone who supported the opening of the Bocce Courts. Many thanks to Fr. Forde who blessed the courts and to Councillor Lisa McDonald who officiated at the ceremony and to Chris Murphy (St. Ibars) who officially opened the courts. The Gospel Choir sang throughout the evening and  other councillors who were in attendance included  Maurice Roche, Pat Codd, Anna Fenlon, Leo Carty. A great evening was had by all. Anyone interested in a Bocce `get together` to meet at the Castlebridge Community Centre on  Sunday next  at 11.30 a.m.

SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS
A Con-celebrated Mass will take place in St. Cyprian`s Church, Screen, at 7.30pm on Wednesday next, 25th July, to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Ordination of Rev. Donal Berney, CC, Screen.  Refreshments and music will be provided afterwards in Hotel Curracloe.  You and your family are invited to join in the celebrations.
 
GRATEFUL THANKS
Castlebridge Senior Citizens Club wish to thank most sincerely all involved with their recent fund-raiser, to those who sold and bought tickets on the night, to the Staff and Management of the Porterhouse, Castlebridge and to Teresa and the Stars who provided the music for the evening.
 
RACE NIGHT
One of the major fundraisers of the year for the development of modern facilities at the Shelmalier GAA Club grounds at Hollymount will take place on August Bank Holiday Monday at Enniscorthy Greyhound track for a great night at the dogs. All players and members of the three clubs involved in the project have been given sponsorship cards in order to get people to sponsor a dog on the night. All these players, members and supporters are asked to make every effort to get as many names as possible and to return them to the club not later than the end of this week in order that the programme can be produced for the night. People interested in sponsoring a race on the night should contact any club member as soon as possible as races are limited. In relation to the development of the sports complex at Hollymount for which this and other events are a major fundraiser, just to report that the construction is progressing according to the time scale set out at the beginning of the project. Thank you for your continued support for this ambitious project.

MASS OF THE SICK
The 7.30pm Mass on Saturday, July 28th in Castlebridge Church will focus on the sick of the parish and all attending Mass will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of the Sick.
 
OUR LADY`S ISLAND PILGRIMAGE
The Annual Our Ladys Island pilgrimages begin on August 15th and continue until September 7th.  Fr. Walter Forde, PP, Castlebridge will celebrate the 3pm and 8pm Mass in Our Ladys Island on Monday, August 20th. 
 
EILEEN O`BRIEN
The death occured on Monday of last week (July 9th) of Mrs. Eileen O`Brien ( nee Mulcahy, North Main Street, Wexford) Ardcavan.  Eileen, who was in her early 60`s was the voice we all heard when we contacted O`Brien Coach Tours. Her friendly disposition endeared her to many people and she enjoyed her life to the full.  She is survived by her husband, Joe, sons David and Derek , daughters Karen and Gail, relatives and friends to whom we offer our deepest sympathy.  Her funeral took place to St. Ibars cemetery following Requiem Mass in Castlebridge Church on Wednesday of last week. R.I.P.
 
CHURCH COLLECTION
The total amount realised from the recent Church-door collection at Castlebridge Church for repairs to porch door/pathway etc was 3,156.70c.  Grateful thanks to each and everyone who supported the collection.
