The Shelmalier under 14 footballers traveled to Bellefield on Wednesday evening last to take on the Starlights in the second round of the championship and after a great encounter victory went to the Enniscorthy boys. The first 15 minutes was an even affair with Glen Murphy firing over two great points for the visitors. As the game wore on the under strength Shels side came under increased pressure and if it wasn’t for the magnificent goal keeping by Sean Byrne, full back Paraic O Leary and fellow defenders Mark Mythen, Eoin O Leary, Eoghan Fitzgerald, Niall Tobin and Neil Rossiter the scores would have been greater.
Some positional changes saw a much improved performance all-round in the second half and they matched their opponents on the scoreboard in this half. With Conor Tobin commanding the centre back position and Paraic O Leary and Shane Berney taking  control of midfield, the forwards began to move the ball effectively with Glen Murphy Damien Drennan, Christopher Scallan, Jake Kehoe, Shane Berney Craig Reynolds and Simon Murphy very prominent. Paraic O Leary, Niall Tobin and Shane Berney were on the scoreboard for the Shels in the second half.
