Almost two hundred people gathered in The Riverbank House Hotel for the Shelmalier Dinner Dance.
On Saturday 27th January, almost two hundred people gathered in The Riverbank House Hotel for the Shelmalier Dinner Dance. The large attendance, all scrubbed up and looking resplendent, enjoyed a beautiful meal, followed by dancing to the music of Theresa and the Stars. The quality of that music can be judged by the fact that space on the dance floor was at a premium all night.
During the night there was a presentation from the Shelmalier GAA club to Timmy Walsh who trained our intermediate footballers for the past few years, and who is now gone to pastures new. Shelmalier Ladies Footballers made a presentation to Pat Quill who this year has stepped down as trainer of the senior team.
The winner of the door prize of a weekend in Paris was Kathleen Carr – well done Kathleen.
The monthly development draw for January was also made during the night, and the following were the winners:
€2000: John O' Leary.
€1000: Mr. & Mrs. Tommy Ryan.
4 prizes of €250: Nora Lawlor ; Jimmy Roche ; Peadar Murphy ; Seamus Flood.
