Late rally ensured draw with Glynn Barntown.
Date: Sat April 28th Venue: Glynn Opponents: Glynn-Barntown.
Competition: Division 1A Football league.
Full time score: (Shels) 0-8 (Opp.)0-8
Glynn-Barntown got off to a fast start and got 0-2 before the Shels got on the score board. Mark Tobin opened the Shels account with a free and Darren Shiggins, who was dominating at full forward, scored two points from play. Glynn were the better side in the first half and led by 0-4 to 0-3 at half time.
With the introduction of Seammie Harding, Michael Kelly and Denis Kelly (all of who arrived late) the Shels team had more bite in it. A good point by S.Harding got Shels off the mark and when Chris Gordon and Tom O’Shea got a point each, the Shels were well in the game. Glynn fought back to push the game down to the wire but two converted frees by Mark Tobin ensured Shels got at least one valuable point from this game. The Shelmaliers best performers on the day were, C.Tynan, B. O’Connor, D. Malone and Darren Shiggins.
