Date: Sat 31st March Venue: Castletown Opponents: Castletown
Competition: Premier A League, 2nd round
Full time score: (Shels) 1-5 (Opp.) 2-12
Castletown were fit and very powerful. It was like men versus boys! They raced into a lead and pulled our half back line out of position again and again. They were powerful at mid field and the only person who stood up to them was Darren Malone. They constantly raced through the center and were at their ease.
The second half began with more of the same. The Shels tried to up their game but they were totally inferior on this day. Many of the Shels players gradually threw in the towel and as a result were given a lesson in football on points such as stamina, team work, strength and commitment.
The Shels will learn a lot by this heavy defeat and were quickly shown that the level they are at is not acceptable.
