Shelmalier Ladies Football AGM 2007

The AGM Of Shelmalier Ladies Football Club was held on Friday 19th Of January in the Community Centre in Castlebridge.

It was a very upbeat and well attended meeting with over 20 Senior players in attendance.

Brenda Fox was returned for a second consecutive year as Chairperson, with Breda Curran and Margaret O’Brien being returned to the other main offices as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Andy O’ Brien replaces Pat Quill as manager of the senior team a position Pat has held for the last 15 years. It is hoped that Pats on field experience and leadership qualities will not be lost to the Club and that he will be remaining on in some capacity.
Senior selectors Mick Mahon and Eddie Kehoe have decided to take a back seat from selector & Training duties for 2007, but both will remain actively involved in the Club.

Yvonne Flynn has returned to club duties after a few years absence and takes over the ropes of Assistant secretary a position she has previously held in the Club. Other new people to come on board include Eileen Moore and Anna Dores. Joe Fox retains the Junior manager position. While Laura Corrigan a senior Player and County Star takes Charge of the minors again. Michelle Doyle Follows suit and has taken charge of the under 16 team, Michelle also a senior player and County Star has had previous experience as a selector with the Club u14 Teams in the past.
Brid Curran was returned as the U14 manager having brought last years Team County Honours, Yvonne Flynn and Anne Maire Cullen have the task of laying the foundations of the game with the U12s and U10s respectively.

The meeting was addressed by Chairman of Shelmalier GAA Club Noel Ryan, Larry Banville of the Hollymount Development committee and Kate Kelly on behalf of St. Ibars Camogie Club, They thanked the club for their continued cooperation, vision and input into Hollymount Development  and wished them the very best in the coming playing season.

Upcoming events:  All members are reminded about the Shelmalier GAA, Ladies Football and Camogie Dinner Dance which takes place next Saturday night 27th Of January in the Riverbank House Hotel. Tickets are 30 Euro and can be purchased from Brenda Fox.
